What are the deliverables?

Will you help me fix the problems you find?
Yes. We can stop at the report, or implement the recommendations for you — tuning configuration, rewriting problem queries, adding indexes, setting up replication and backups. Many clients then keep us on a monthly remote DBA agreement for ongoing tuning and 24x7 monitoring.
Is it available for MariaDB, Percona Server or Amazon RDS?
Yes. The same review applies to MySQL, MariaDB and Percona Server, whether self-hosted or on managed platforms such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, Azure Database for MySQL and Google Cloud SQL. On managed platforms we work within the parameters the provider exposes.
Will you need access to my MySQL servers?
We need a read-only database user plus access to the configuration file and slow query log. For deeper diagnostics, shell access to the host is helpful but not mandatory. All access is agreed in writing beforehand and can be revoked as soon as the engagement ends.
What are the supported connection methods?
We connect over SSH tunnel, VPN, or a whitelisted direct TLS connection — whichever fits your security policy. For sensitive environments we can also work from an on-premise jump host, or review exported diagnostics without any live connection at all.
