Frequently Asked Questions
How far ahead should IT be planned for an office move?
Start planning at least 4–6 weeks before the move, to allow time to order internet at the new site — usually the longest lead time — and to design the cabling layout and schedule the move.
How long will systems be down during the move?
We keep it as short as possible: the network at the new office is ready first, then equipment is moved over a weekend so staff are back at work the next business day. Typically systems are down for no more than a day.
How safely are servers and critical equipment moved?
We back up data and record every configuration before disconnecting anything, use shock-proof packaging and move equipment with an experienced team. At the destination every system is tested and you receive acceptance documentation.
What installation work is covered?
LAN and power cabling for IT equipment, and installation of racks, switches, access points, firewalls, servers, printers and desktop computers, all configured ready to use.
Do you survey the site before quoting?
Yes. We visit, measure cable runs, check power points and cable routes, then prepare a layout and a quotation with clearly defined quantities so there are no extra charges on the day.
Can you coordinate with the internet provider?
Yes. We coordinate new circuit installation, relocation of existing circuits and configuration of connection equipment, and verify the actual speed against what's specified in the service contract.
